My short stories have been published in many literary journals and anthologies and I also contribute to BBC Radio 3 and 4. An ebook collection of my short stories is currently in preparation at Cultur Books in Germany.

Not many pieces are available online, but you can find a short story called In the House by the Sea in Interlitq: the International Literary Quarterly here. Interlitq has also reprinted an article I wrote for a book called SHIFTS: Projections into the Future of the Central Belt: 'Pipe Dreams of Post-Industrial Arcadia'. A 500 word piece commissioned by the Imprint Festival is available here.

I review books for various publications and contribute frequently to the Scottish Review of Books. You can find essays on Muriel Spark here and here, for example, and a review of the poems of ‘Glasgow’s Forgotten Feminist’ Marion Bernstein here.

I’ve also written journalism for many newspapers and magazines, including film and restaurant reviews, lifestyle pieces and essays. For example, I’ve taken singing lessons and performed at a karaoke club (and believe me, I can’t sing), attended an Annie Sprinkle women’s sex workshop and interviewed some very interesting people.

A different kind of collaboration took place in 2008, when I worked with Louise, David Sherry and Laura Murray on an exhibition called ‘I throw my prayers into the sky’. We were inspired by the collections of the Deutsches Medizinhistorisches Museum in Inglostadt and staged an exhibition featuring drawings, objects, performance and text pieces at the Internationales Künstlerhaus Villa Concordia in Bamberg. A book accompanying the exhibition (I throw my prayers into the sky, Bamberger Punkt 14) is available from the Villa.
